Food | Raclette

Raclette is a dish indigenous to parts of Switzerland. Traditionally a cheese called raclette (of course) wash melted and then the melted part was scarpped of into the dinner plates and eaten with potatoes, mushrooms, meats such as prosciutto or bacon, pickled vegetables and other veggies of choice.
Nowadays an electric machine is used to melt the cheese and many kinds of cheese are used, my favourite is emmental.
It is the perfect confort food for a social dinner as it may last hours!

Watching the Sunset at Relógio Beach | Figueira da Foz, Portugal

After walking a long distance, we finally reached our destination - the beach. One of our friends had just arrived from Switzerland and she was sick of mountains and snow, so she begged us to go to the beach and just look at the see for a while... we ended up running after seaguls and then spread a scarf on the sand and sat down to watch the sunset. It was really a magical moment.
Even though it's December and rain/snow was expected, it's still sunny in Portugal (thank God!!). Don't be foolled by this bright sun though. it has been freezing cold!

Relógio Beach | Figueira da Foz, Portugal

Last Summer I attended Somnii Festival, which is the biggest electronic music festival in Portugal, and haven't been to this beach ever since. It's incredible to look at this deserted beach (now that it's Winter time) when the only memory I have of it is a gigantic stage and fifty thousand people jumping and screaming as one.

Streetart | Figueira da Foz, Portugal

Hello there! So after passing the marina, we approched the dockyard. This place is enourmous! And to be honest I have no idea what it is for, especially that round wall, with all those paintings. But I found them very beautiful and interesting.

Two of my friends taking a selfie...

As the sun was setting by the time I took these pictures, the shadows were making amazing shapes and we decided to take some pics.

Pretty Things Pt.2 | Figueira da Foz, Portugal

As we carried on walking we passed the marina, which I found beautiful! It's an amazing place to go for a walk or to jog, to have a cup of coffee or simply to hang out.

Anyone who knows me or has read some of my post knows that I'm crazy about mosaics, "azulejos" and "calçada portuguesa" which is this kind of floor composed by small cubes of stone, usually granite or limestone.

You can see my outfit, very warm and comfy.

And some streetart close to the beach.

Pretty Things | Figueira da Foz, Portugal

Hey there! Last weekend I went to Figueira da Foz with some friends to celebrate the returning of one of those friends from Switzerland.
We arrived there around lunch time, had some tuna salad and then headed to the beach. The apartment we stayed in was about two kilometers away from the beach so we had plenty of time to explore the city, take pictures and laugh a lot! (We went by foot)

This is probably my favorite picture of the day. Everything about this house is amazing - the mosaics, that shade of red, all the greens around, the golden windows, the sculpted details...
It's a shame no one is taking care of it. Saddly it happens a lot in Portugal, this kind of buildings are abandoned and no one ensures their preservation, which is too bad because buildings like this are not being made anymore - the remaining ones should be preserved!

I chose a warm and confortable outfit, as I knew we were going to walk a lot! During the day the temperatures were very nice and we were lucky enough to have the sun shining bright over our heads, but after the sun set, it got freezing cold and windy.

Some details from doors around the city.

There are lots of trees pretty much everywhere, which is beautiful during Autumn!

Aaaaaand more mosaics! (I'm a mosaic junkie) The shadows in the back are looking dang fine as well.
